We are notified when a new Storj protocol version is out. But downtime is at least as important as upgrading the node's protocol. Since you have many SNOs operating a drive from a home broadband connection, there is no server hosting provider that would inform us when the connection is lost and our node is down. Even with some hosting providers, you don't have this feature. There should be an email notification sent when reaching half of the allowed downtime a month and half an hour before reaching the maximum.
